What's Pleasure got to do with Weight Loss?

I know what you’re probably thinking, “too much pleasure is the cause of my weight gain!”  It’s true, you don’t normally hear “pleasure” and “weight loss” in the same sentence.  Most people associate weight loss with words like restriction, boredom, deprivation, effort and even pain.

So today, I’m introducing you to my friend Jena la Flamme.

If you’ve spent any time on the site, you know that back in November I attended a life-altering event called Rich, Happy and Hot Live, hosted by my guru for business, life and all that is fun and excellent-Marie Forleo.  Among the many beautiful, talented and influential women I met there was this glowing blonde with amazing curly hair and literally, a soft, healthy aura that you could sense from across the room.

Jena la Flamme is the founder of Jena Wellness.  She’ll tell you her story in the interview below, but before you check it out, have a look at this before/after shot.  That is a freakin’ personal transformation and  a half (I could barely believe my eyes)!

When I heard Jena was launching a new coaching program called “Weight Loss Pleasure Immersion” I was stunned by curiosity as to how the two not only belong in the same sentence, but would work together so intimately.

Watch my interview with Jena below to learn about what she calls the feminine approach to weight loss, which not only lasts (just look at her!), but doesn’t involve giving up chocolate (yesss!).

Even if you’re skeptical, and think that pleasure is a “trouble-maker” in your life,
not a “helper”–I invite you to experiment for yourself. The rewards that
await you by putting this into practice may blow your mind.

People don’t truly understand the risks of being overweight. Why do most want to lose weight? Most would say to look better. Looking better certainly is a benefit of losing weight, but this shouldn’t be the sole reason to lose weight. There is a 1000 pound gorilla in the room and it’s often ignored. Being overweight for a long period of time kills thousands of people each year.

Agree 100%. Have you ever read “Why We Get Fat” By Gary Taubes? He gets really deep into this and it’s very real and very scary. Thanks for the comment!

Losing a ton of weight is not pleasurable but it is one of the greatest achievements anyone can do. putting it on is easy, taking it off is hell.

I understand it’s a struggle for a lot of people. That’s why Jena specializes in making the experience pleasurable…and that is what she credits her success to. It doesn’t have to be hell…it’s only hell if you let it be.
