Quit Being Such a HUGE B*tch!

Don’t judge this week’s video by the title.  I’ll be honest, I’m going to give you the business…but as always, it’s wrapped in love and it’s a message you probably need to hear.

How do I know you need to hear it?  Because if you’re visiting my site, you’re a living, breathing human, probably a woman, and we all get a little too b*tchy for our own good now and then.

I’ll also give you a hint, I’m not talking about being the fire-breathing, PMS-ing, excusable kind of b*tch (is that really excusable?)…I’m talking about a different kind of b*tch, so go ahead and watch the video…

Your feedback on this one is important to me and to everyone in this community so go ahead and leave a comment with your thoughts!

Quit Being Such a HUGE B*tch!

Yesss! I love this video Liz, you hit it spot on. I try not to let those ways of talking to myself get to me, but honestly it’s craazy what we allow ourselves to say to ourselves. (Getting convoluted here, you were absolutely well spoken!)

    • Liz DiAlto

Totally crazy…perhaps put my voice in your head next time telling you you’re a triple-threat-ridiculously creative technical genius. Yes!

  • Karie

You did it again, Liz. Your timing for this video was perfect for me! I had my strategy call today and was being a HUGE bitch to myself afterwards. I said “I’m back” 417 times, but I was f’ing that up and was even more of a c*nt (yes, I said it). I am going to stop right now. Thanks, love. xoxo

    • Liz DiAlto

KDH…I feel you sister. We can do this. You might stop right now and start it back up later. That’s ok too…work in progress mama! xo

  • Stella Santana

I was SUCH a bitch to myself last year and I didn’t even realize it! I always compared myself to other people and wondered why they were getting results and I wasn’t. DUH. This is still a daily struggle for me but with good people around me and awesome reminders like your video today, I can get right back to loving myself kicking ASS! 🙂 Thanks Liz!

    • Liz DiAlto

Ooohh Stel, you bring up such a good point that I did not mention which is comparisons. That’s one of THE BIGGEST ways we’re super shitty to ourselves. Glad you’re aware, and on top of it. You kick major ass 🙂 xo

  • Nichole Kellerman

Wonderfully put Liz, couldn’t have said it better! 🙂 Keep rockin out love!

  • Angela

    Hi Liz,
I used to do this too, I would be so hard on myself and have such bad feelings inside of me about me. I would never have talked to anyone like I’d talk to myself. Then I wanted to change, I’d had enough of that thing inside that wasn’t at all me.
Now I honestly look in the mirror and I know I love myself. I’ve woken up to who I really am, a beautiful woman who has such a love for life, and although I’m a little way off from standing where I’d like to stand, I know that I’ll get there.
With people like you to keep us motivated and give us faith in ourselves. I know its never too late to learn anything. You inspire me, I think your wonderful. Keep the video’s/emails coming I love them.
    Love Angela (49)

    • Liz DiAlto

Aw Angela, I love this comment, thank you so much…and no worries, new videos every Tuesday!

  • Kelly Lynn

Liz! YOU GO GIRL! I absolutely LOVE this message and the video….my new mantra I am a ROCKSTAR and fan f*cking FABULOUS! I love me!
    Keep the amazing content coming!!

  • Katherine

I saw the subject line in my inbox and was like “what is this?” Wow… I needed this! I really liked how you put in perspective that a lot of the negative self talk is something we would never say to other people! Time to find a mantra 🙂

  • Tessa

LOVE this, Liz! Thanks for the the reminder to appreciate and love ourselves always!

  • Mike Monroe

I can think of about 832,619 people that need to hear this message. Oooh. 832,620 (forgot Jimmy).

Seriously. You’re beyond inspirational, Liz. Thank you for this video (which I shared with someone I love).

By the way, one of my favorite mantras I ever heard came from an 80 year old woman (think: adorable. Like, Happy Gilmore’s grandmother adorable). I met her at a conference back in 2007. She told me that anytime she started to get bitchy? She’d say to herself:

    “SUCK IT UP, PRINCESS!!” Haha!

    Again: you’re a rockstar.

PS. A mantra I (should) use (more):
    “Let it all go.”

    • Liz DiAlto

Monroe, I love your comments, esp. when there’s an Adam Sandler movie reference! (Sidebar, one of my fav memories of you is giving a branch opp talk, Summer 2002 that started “you aint cool, unless you go branch”

One a serious note, appreciate the positive words, your sharing my post with someone you love and I may adopt “Suck it up princess!” because it’s money.

Thank you and thank you and thank you again!

  • Jen Kem

I love ME! Thanks Liz for the reminder. I’m going to say that more often!

    xo, Jen

  • Victoria

Wow! I hadn’t thought of it that way before. Thanks for the wake-up call.

  • Heather Pierce

Liz, you’re so great on video – feel like you’re talking directly to me! I definitely noticed that when I had a hard time letting go of bad habits, it’s because I’m being a bitch to myself about it. I used to be late for everything, and while I rushing to get where I needed to go, I’d say “I hate you Heather! Why the eff can’t you be on time?!”. After I took a step back and worked WITH myself to figure out how “we” could fix it, we came up with a solution. Ah, teamwork.

  • Pat

Seriously Liz, that was awesome thanks for the kick in the pants, I am so guilty of being a B*tch to myself ..I was rationalizing it by thinking that I was just pushing myself to be better and you are so right I would NEVER speak to anyone like that eva, it’s definitely time for a change 🙂

  • Erica

Looks like this one hit home for a lot of us. I love the idea of coming up with a mantra to use when I’m feeling not especially nice to myself. Thanks once again for hitting it out of the park. You rock!

  • Randi Pierce

Yes! That’s what I’m talking about!

Played this BS game for too long. Then I realized that the BS playing in my head was BS learned from the people around me – it wasn’t who I *really* was.

    *You’re not good enough….you’re stupid…you’re an airhead….you can’t do anything right…..*

    BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. (aka. bullsh*t, bullsh*t, bullsh*t)

The day I started living from authentic self, was the day I realized I am magnificent – friggin’ brilliant.

    We ALL are : )

Live your truth…not someone else’s BS.

Thanks for posting Liz — sharing with my peeps : )

  • alison

  • Cheryl Chavarria

You sent my inner Bitch running with this video! Yeah, I’m guilty of it, every friggin’ day. Thanks for the energy. You are great on video! Doin’ a lot of good here, Liz!

  • Kimberly

Love this video! Just found your site today through and I love your personality and how you tell it like it is. Keep it up, you’re awesome!

    • Liz DiAlto

Thanks Kimberly-I haven’t logged into herfuture in quite a while, your comment is a reminder that I should!

  • Michelle Vargas

I love this!!! Great insights, I hadn’t thought about the voice in my head vs the way I speak to loved ones. Perfect way to reframe and knock it off. I leave myself post-its on my monitor. “Sit up!” is great for my back, “shut up and stop overreacting, Michelle” is great for my stress, and I’m now going to add, “You can do this.” as that one really rang true for me. Thank you for reposting this, Liz, I missed it back in March. Great way to start my day 😀 <3

    • Liz DiAlto

in the comment by Mike Monroe he mentions an little old lady who tells her self “Suck it up princess!” lol…that could be a great post it too. Glad this hit home for you Michelle, you do such amazing work-and should definitely not be bitching yourself around! xo

  • Lisa Fabrega

Love it Liz!! So true. 🙂
