Brussel Sprouts Recipe : How to Actually Make ‘Em Taste Good!

I know Brussel Sprouts get a bad rap…in fact I grew up thinking they were the most miserable, disgusting vegetable ever to grow out of the earth.  Not because I’d tasted them and thought they were gross though.  I never even had one until 2010.

Turns out, they’re DELICIOUS!  AND super easy to make.

Here’s my favorite and simplest Brussel Sprouts recipe.  If you’re fan and have a favorite way you make them, I’d love for you to share your best brussel sprouts recipes with us in the comments below the post!

INGREDIENTS:

Brussel Sprouts, rinsed and cut in half, discard top layer of leaves (especially if they’re not organic)

Olive Oil

Sea salt

Paprika

INSTRUCTIONS:

1.Pre-heat oven to Convection Bake 425 degrees for best results

2. Clean and cut brussel sprouts

3. Put them in a large bowl.

4. Amount of olive oil will depend on amount of brussel sprouts, I’ll leave this up to you, I never actually measure it

5. Sea salt and paprika to taste (again, I’m not big on measuring for this, I usually do “a couple of shakes”)

6. Bake for 12-15 minutes (may want to set for 10 minutes to start and check on them, I’m sure ovens vary, don’t want to burn them)

BONUS TIP: Try this same recipe for broccoli, green beans, or cauliflower … switch out paprika for your favorite seasoning.

    I’m a BIG advocate of roasting brussel sprouts too! A far cry from the “boiled to mush” sprouts my mom made growing up. My husband roasted some sprouts for me a few years ago, and I’m pretty sure we have them now at least every other week!

    Brussel sprouts are my second favourite veg after asparagus so I can eat them any way…boiled, steamed, plain, seasoned….My husband on the other hand, hates them. However, whenever I roast them with some EVOO, garlic, and rosemary he will eat them. I do almost all my veg this way as he will eat anything I put in front of him, but it helps if you actually like/can tolerate the taste as well. I’ve never used paprika but will definitely give that a go next time. Thanks for the tip!!

    love brussel sprouts!!! a little bit of honey is really good too! and if you were like me and didn’t love the bitter taste when i first started eating them, the honey sweetens them up! now i love them with just evoo and sea salt!

    Made brussel sprouts tonight for dinner…instead of sea salt I added hot sauce! Totally went out on a limb trying it but THEY WERE AMAZING!!

    Kick your brussel sprouts up a notch by adding thinly sliced red onion and fennel before roasting. The onion adds sweetness and the fennel a flavor boost.

    Roasted Brussels sprouts are amazing! I like to add a little cumin to mine as well.
