If you’ve read my book, you know there’s an entire chapter on spiritual bypass and this is something I get really fired up about. We continue to talk about it because it’s one of those things that people often don’t know is even a thing while they’re right in the middle of doing it. Today’s guest Jen Blackstock is one of my best friends and a repeat guest which makes it extra special and wild as we get into energetic hygiene, personal responsibility, integrating the mind and body, and true sovereignty. It’s a meaty conversation, probably one you’ll want to listen to more than once. Enjoy!

About Jen Blackstock:

Jen Blackstock is the owner + founder of The Unbridled Life. Known by names such as Vision Keeper, Champagne Sipping Oracle, The Fearless Poetess and Rebel Visionary, Jen is a force of healing and growth for anyone who crosses her path. From an executive in finance to healer and coach, to star athlete in equestrian, swimming, triathlons and a short stint in women’s rugby, to founder of three 6+ Figure Businesses. Jen blends her knowledge of the body, personal power and feminine mythology with real-world business sense, wealth cultivation and abundance mentality.

Jen is passionate about guiding others through the transformative journey of embodying a truly Unbridled Life by accessing what the body is saying through pain, injury, illness or other messages as an entry point for healing and growth. After surviving 10 years as an executive in finance and heeding the Call to serve others, Jen traveled all over the world studying with master healers and coaches.

She has dedicated her life to providing the space for any healing, coaching and spiritual guidance that is needed in each person’s own journey- no matter what transpires in the process. Jen has a way of holding space with strength for each client to experience whatever they need to experience in order to to heal and move forward in their life.

When not diving deep with her clients, Jen’s passions include riding horses as much as she can, hiking with her fiance Matt + dog Apollo, and enjoying champagne and pizza in celebration of life and love.

EP124: Jen Blackstock on Real Talk about Spiritual Bypass
  • Jennifer DeRuff

I just listened to this this morning, and the universe’s timing could NOT have been more perfect. Just prior to listening, I’d been chatting with a friend who exhibited some behavior I didn’t agree with. What I saw was that he was using that behavior to prop himself up and feel superior. I started by asking him if he was up for a bit of a challenge and asked him what he got out of behaving this way. His answer wasn’t what I thought was the *right* one, and then asked him if he was open to my opinion. I was so eager to point out to him what I thought he was doing, that I was totally unaware that I was doing the exact same thing! Using his behavior as a way to prop myself up and feel superior to HIM! (If you spot it, you got it!) Luckily for me, he said he didn’t want my opinion at that time, so I didn’t shove my foot in my mouth quite so hard as I might have otherwise, and in the course of this podcast, I had that big AHA that I was guilty of the exact same thing and that I wasn’t honoring his boundaries (or his truth) by wanting to foist my opinions on him.

Thank you so much for this wonderful podcast. I learn so much!
