Some of you remember my dear friend Jill Coleman from her first appearance on the show in 2016. This time I’ve invited Jilly back to talk about something very specific that she is SO FREAKING GOOD at helping people with – Food Obsession. If you think about food all the time, beat yourself up about your choices, question yourself about it, feel frozen about making decisions because you’ve taken in so much conflicting or complicated nutrition information through books, magazines, and programs OR and you regularly don’t know what to eat or can’t enjoy an easy relationship to food for both vital energy and pleasure without feeling guilty or ashamed this interview will help.

About Jill Coleman:

In addition to launching her personal brand at JillFit.com in 2010, Jill Coleman was a co-founder of Metabolic Effect, Inc. Her 16-year journey in the health and fitness industry began when she got her very first job at a gym just for the free membership at 15!

Since then, it’s a been a whirlwind of education in exercise science and nutrition, fitness competitions, landing several national covers for fitness modeling and plenty of business growth. Her work has been featured in SELF magazine, Family Circle, SHAPE, Women’s Health magazine, Prevention magazine and many online news outlets like Yahoo Health, LiveStrong.com and AOL’s That’s Fit.

Her passion lies in coaching in the areas of mindset, body and business, which she does via her flagship program, The Best Of You (BOY) Coaching Club mentorship, as well as a few signature online programs, like the Mindset Makeover, the Food Obsession Boot Camp and her 52-week exercise program, the Total Training Experience (TTE).

In this episode, Jill shares:

1. Using food as a control mechanism so you can present a certain way
2. Using fullness, hunger, satiety and satisfaction to navigate the best choices for you personally
3. How to deal with all the reasons food creates guilt in your life – not finishing it, over-indulging, etc…

What You’ll Hear:

6:03 On intuitive eating and nutritional nirvana
13:30 Owning your food choices + mindset changes
23:52 Not finishing food and food scarcity
30:08 Navigating mindfulness + systematic indulgences
40:49 All about Food Obsession Bootcamp

Oh my gosh!!! I have done so many of those moderation tweaks – in high school I would dump water or juice over my food so I wouldn’t keep eating just because it was there. And as far as moderation as a practice, I cannot agree more!! I’ve learned how to eat just a few bites out of the Haagen Dasz pint, or a few blocks off the chocolate bar, and then be able to put it away. And sometimes, I do eat the entire thing and then I practice not beating myself up for it!! I so appreciate all of this!
