EP176: Lisa Lister on A Bloody Conversation About Being a Witch and Loving Your Lady Landscape

I’ve been anticipating this interview for a while and it did not disappoint! My sassy friend Lisa Lister is back on the podcast today talking about loving your lady landscape, harnessing the power of being a woman with a cyclic nature, and why we need to reclaim the word “Witch.” Lisa has written three books, Code Red, Love Your Lady Landscape and Witch, all three of which have had a massive impact on my life, so not only is she a friend, I consider her a mentor as well. She is my go-to maven for embracing the full experience and wisdom of the menstrual cycle. AND this woman speaks the bone deep truth (which means not skirting the darker, more taboo aspects of anything). We talked about patriarchy, sisterhood, self-care and debated whether or not consistency is all it’s cracked up to be. Enjoy!

About Lisa Lister:

Crowned ‘the defender of female awesomeness’ by Cooler magazine, Lisa Lister is an advocate of the FULL female experience. She’s a writer, a menstrual maven and creatrix of the SHE Flow system – movement, women’s wisdom and menstrual health + ‘down-there’ care practices – dedicated to helping women crack their lady code, reconnect with their body wisdom + love their lady landscape.

In this episode, Lisa shares:

1. A definition of witch and how the word was taken from us
2. Navigating the fear of visibility that comes with doing the work you’re called to do in life
3. Fierce reverence and why it’s important to find your own roots
4. Spiritual exploration and understanding the roots of sacred lineages and traditions before incorporating them into your own life and practices

What You’ll Hear:

7:55 On the witch wound and looking at your lineage
21:07 Reverence, initiations, and following the rabbit hole
32:01 Calling back your power + values and self-care
43:32 Healthy and unhealthy masculine and feminine energy
56:59 On patriarchal culture

great episode which i am still digging and will then jump to the previous you ladies did. I am considering buying one of Lisa´s books )apart from Witch which i just rescued and will continue to read. I have Mirena UID. I have had it for two years now and my period has gone away and I am considering removal. My body is sending me that message. I know this is already a great opportunity to pay more attention to my body and loving her more than ever. it feels exciting this new phase in my life! And at the same time I want to keep things simple, because i tend to get consumed with information. I posted on FB recently and got some ideas for literature. i would love if possible Lisa´s feedback on which book will help me understand more about my cycles, and do this transition as lovingly and well informed as possible. I should thank and will explicitly thank my partner for being so open minded and supportive of this process. It means a lot to me during this time being able to share with my him experience. The other day he offered me a massage. he is clearly very attuned with both masculine and feminine energies. and thank you as always for such valuable content. love to all the tribe from Uruguay
