About Jessi Kneeland:

Jessi Kneeland is a certified personal trainer, fitness expert, and blogger. She’s a NYC dweller, a lover of Scotch on the rocks, and she believes in the magic of birthdays and full moons. She rhymes often, she prefers savory to sweet, and she can’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon than reading good fiction in the sunshine.

Jessi is tough, and sarcastic, and she’s afraid of elevator doors. She loves deadlifting because it makes her feel like one of those little anime characters who power-up and then BURST into space! She loves sprinting because it makes her feel like a cheetah. She uses a lot of imagery, she’s a feminist, and she cries so easily it’s embarrassing.

Jessi is the creator of Remodel Fitness because it is her deepest wish that she may be able to help women everywhere harness the inherent power that they either don’t know is inside of them, or don’t feel they deserve to tap into.

It is incredibly empowering to put in the work and then actually see and feel the results in your body. It’s rewarding and astonishing to realize that you are stronger and better this week than you were last week. She uses fitness to encourage a strong sense of self-worth, and foster body-positivity and self-acceptance along the way.
She wants to help you achieve the body you deserve, while loving the body you have.
She wants to create an army of women who feel empowered through fitness to dream bigger and live triumphantly, because she believes our world needs you.

I really loved this podcast! I loved how you ladies discussed body image and how we may praise someone like Amy Schumer for taking a naked picture, which I think was a beautiful work of art, and yet condemn someone like Gisele Bundchen for doing the same thing.

I’ve been thin all my life, and it was not until recently that I started embracing my body because I felt bad…almost guilty for having a thin body. People aren’t nice to thin girls and it seems that that is acceptable by our society.

We should embrace health over a specific body type.

Thanks again Elizabeth and Jessi for this awesome podcast.

And the irony is, women who aren’t thin probably assume thin women are happy just because they’re thin or ‘have it easier” – thanks for sharing your perspective!
