Last week on our first call for the Untame Yourself Women’s Leadership Council, someone asked about feeling super triggered by some relatives. This led into a deep and insightful conversation around how to use getting triggered to your advantage and the three different purposes of triggers. This is a topic there’s a lot of misunderstanding around so I’m really happy to clear it up in today’s episode and hope you find it super useful.

In this episode, I jam on the following topics:

1. Emotional and psychological triggers
2. Understanding and looking inward when something sparks you
3. How triggers can reveal the blind spots in your life

What You’ll Hear:

3:38 A definition of the shadow side
6:49 The three purposes of triggers + getting clear and making them useful

Recently I was really triggered by how badly people were talking about a family member who was arrested and is obviously in the throws of addiction. Thru the hurt of watching this happen (like seriously I felt like I was being punched in the face with each share and comment that was unsupportive), I reflect almost panicked~ have I ever shared something or thoughtlessly commented or maliciously tried to knock someone down a peg by my online actions…I may have but boy will my future actions be effected by this experience. I did also make a mental list of people I will no longer say hello to, do business with and un “friended” a few too~the discernment part I guess.
