SOLO EMAILS

There are four emails here. The first is a general intro to the series. The second mention is if you want to send another nudge for folks to check it out. I wrote three versions of that, one that is more personal for those of you who are close friends, another for those who have worked with me in any capacity over the years or listen to the podcast, and the third one makes more sense for those who are colleagues or acquaintances. All customizable parts are in italics. You can also find 3-point descriptions of each interview in this document, especially if there’s a particular speaker you want to highlight.

EMAIL #1 – General Intro of the Series

Subject line idea #1: Are you settling?
Subject line idea #2: What do you think about this?

Hey Name,

Are you settling? Or are you getting comfortable with the spaces that exist in between entitlement, delusion, equity, reality, and infinite possibility?

This is important to think about if you’re a person who spends time in coaching/healing spaces (or who follows them online) where the messaging is often deeply rooted in systems of oppression and supremacy.

So much that is packaged as empowerment is really entitlement.

Often, people who are connected to sufficiency and aren’t interested in having, doing, or being THE MOST are told they’re “playing small.”

And sometimes people are playing small or hiding in plain sight.

Others though, [myself included] really enjoy a simpler life – and of course, “simple” looks different for everyone.

Context and nuance matter so much in these conversations.

As do self-awareness, humility, and curiosity.

The more we get into our roots, the easier it is to see what’s real for us and unhook from the programming and conditioning that keep us in hamster wheels and prevent us from living beautiful, satisfying, and peace-filled lives on our own terms even when the world is chaotic and so cruel.

I recently got to participate in an interview series called The REAL Uplevel [link to therealuplevel.com or use your referral link] that I think you might really enjoy.

Often in the coaching industry, people talk about upleveling revenue, followers, influence, and productivity.

In The REAL Uplevel, the focus is on upleveling leadership skills, compassion, integrity, awareness, and liberatory business practices. It’s also about redefining success and prosperity on our own life-honoring terms.

In my interview, the host, Elizabeth DiAlto and I covered:

EMAIL #2 – Personalized second mention for close friends

Subject line idea #1: You’re not going to want to miss this …
Subject line idea #2: How to actually “do better” …

Name,

If more people brought the same energy to admitting when they don’t know things that they to do amping themselves up when they only know a little, the world would be a very different place.

There is so much to know and learn. When you think you need to be the best or know the most or have it all figured out, you block yourself from curiosity and learning.

When you create barriers around yourself for who you’re available to learn from, you miss out on beautiful lessons and opportunities to connect with folks and build community.

When we don’t give ourselves the space or the grace to find out what we don’t know, our chances of doing better are slim.

In 2023, it’s important to learn how to spot the REAL humble students, devoted practitioners, committed change makers, and reverent revolutionaries.

My friend, Elizabeth DiAlto has curated 17 such leaders (including me!) in her REAL Uplevel interview series.

Have you checked it out yet? [link to therealuplevel.com or your referral link]

I’ve known Elizabeth since [insert when/how we met] and something I’ve always appreciated about her is [something genuine related to what’s described in this email.]

There are a lot of very performative people online. They’re “loud,” they do a lot of virtue signaling, and they appear to be here for collective healing and liberation, but when you look closer, it becomes clear that they just have the language, not the praxis.

Maybe you’ve even hired or worked with folks like this. It can be really discouraging.

This is why I’m so excited to be part of and share The REAL Uplevel series. Each speaker is someone who lives and embodies their liberatory values. Some of them are incredible guides and professionals who do justice, DEI, anti-oppression, and decolonization work.

Others are coaches and healers who have been in the trenches learning, unlearning, implementing, and integrating liberatory practices in their businesses FOR YEARS (ahem, long before 2020 when it officially became “trendy and marketable” to do so.)

The series is open for registration now, it starts April 3 and runs through April 22. Make sure you have a look at the details before then and join if this work is important to you too.
